Roomba s9+

Ratings: 3.7/5 (Based on 5,975 user reviews)

Release year: 2022

Dimensions: 12.25 x 12.25 x 3.5 inches

Run time: 50 – 120 mins

Dustbin capacity: 0.5 L

Why Roomba s9+?

  • Reason 1: The unique D shape covers every nook and corner of the house, leaving little to no space for the dust to hide.
  • Reason 2: The vacuum has 40 times more suction power than a regular 600 series Roomba, which helps to clean carpets with more force.

The Roomba s9+ is a top-of-the-line vacuum from iRobot. Its 3-stage cleaning system loosens, lifts, and suctions dirt. The two rubber brushes are 30% bigger than traditional circular vacuums, which provide a larger cleaning path. They have a floating system that doesn’t let the brushes touch the ground and thus protects hard floors from scratching.

Carpets get deep cleaning experience because of the 40x* suction power. The debris collected is emptied into the docking station in a large bag, which can hold debris for as many as 60 days.

What users say:

  • “It can comfortably do around 1,000 sq ft on a single charge. It takes about an hour and a half to vacuum and charges for the same amount of time.”
  • “I bought this for our house near the beach as it has wooden floors and I have four cats. I haven’t had to take out my large vacuum for a couple of weeks. I would run it almost every day, and it just does an amazing job! Saves me so much time and energy!”

Pros and Cons

PROS

  • Great suction power
  • PerfectEdge technology
  • D shape tackles corners

CONS

  • Short run time
  • Less battery capacity
  • Runs over pet poop

Dreametech L10s Ultra

Ratings: 4.3/5 (Based on 365 user reviews)

Release year: 2022

Dimensions: 13 x 13 x 3 inches

Run time: 160-210 mins

Dustbin capacity: 0.35 L

Why Dreametech L10s Ultra?

  • Reason 1: Cleaning carpets takes longer than hard floors, and that’s why the long run time of 160 to 210 minutes makes this a good option.
  • Reason 2: The auto boost mode gives a full 5,200 Pa suction power on the carpets for deep cleaning.

Along with the above reasons, the Dreametech L10s Ultra has several distinguishing features. To start with, there’s the self-emptying bin, self-refilling water tank, and self-cleaning mops.

The rotatory mops rotate at 180 rpm to create a scrubbing effect for the floor. They raise their mops by a short height so your carpet won’t come in contact with the mop. The bot uses AI for navigation so it knows exactly which surface it is cleaning and when it’s done.

What users say:

  • “I’ve had this robot for about 1.5 months. We love it. We have a 9-month-old golden retriever whose hair it easily manages.”
  • “This thing is truly awesome, and the cherry on top of this fantastic product is the customer service team who made things right!”

Pros and Cons

PROS

  • Self-cleaning mops
  • High suction power
  • Good battery life
  • Rotatory mops

CONS

  • Expensive
  • Can be loud while cleaning

Tikom G8000 Pro

Ratings: 4.3/5 (Based on 228 user reviews)

Release year: 2022

Dimensions: 12.6 x 12.6 x 3 inches

Run time: 120-150 mins

Dustbin capacity: 0.45 L

Warranty: 1 year

Why Tikom G8000 Pro?

  • Reason 1: 5 cleaning modes: smart, edge, random, and manual
  • Reason 2: It has adjustable water output levels so that you can choose between three levels of water for mopping.

The Tikom G8000 Pro is an amazing dual-cleaning robot at a medium price. Most robot vacuums with mops are very expensive, but this one gives the best value at a lower price.

The suction power of 4500 Pa is noteworthy. Medium and high-pile carpets can be left with it without tension. Though just like all other vacuums, this has slight problems with shag carpets.

The mopping performance is noteworthy because of the adjustable water levels.

What users say:

  • “Does great at picking up pet hair from hard floors, area rugs, and medium-pile carpet.”
  • “I bought one for my son too. He has all hard floors, two dogs & a cat. He says it does a great job too.”

Pros and Cons

PROS

  • Electronically controlled water pump
  • Gyroscope-based smart navigation
  • Powerful suction

CONS

  • Small water tank
  • Gets stuck under furniture

Eufy RoboVac G30 Edge

Ratings: 4.3/5 (Based on 104 user reviews)

Release year: 2020

Dimensions: 12.8 x 12.8 x 2.58 inches

Run time: 100 mins

Dustbin capacity: 0.6 L

Why Eufy RoboVac G30 Edge?

  • Reason 1: You can manually control the Eufy with the app. Make it go where you want and how you want with the app remote control.
  • Reason 2: The BoostIQ feature automatically increases the suction power when the vacuum transitions from the hard floor to the carpet and decreases when the hard floor is encountered again.

In spite of being a budget Robovac, the Eufy RoboVac G30 Edge has an excellent dynamic navigation system. It cleans in neat patterns and covers the entire area. We love the spot mode for targeted cleaning on a specific area.

Imagine you spilled some beans on your kitchen floor; you can just turn on the spot mode for that specific area and not waste any extra energy. One of the biggest drawbacks of this vacuum is that it allows you to set only one schedule at a time.

What users say:

  • “It does a nice job of picking up pet hair between full manual vacuuming sessions. You will be amazed at how much pet hair it picks up.”
  • “I have zero complaints so far, and I have been impressed with the improved level of cleaning and consistency along with the improved options over the G15.”

Pros and Cons

PROS

  • BoostIQ technology
  • Spot cleaning mode
  • Remote control via the app
  • Low height profile

CONS

  • Doesn’t support virtual wall barriers

Roomba Combo j7+

Ratings: 4.3/5 (Based on 5,496 user reviews)

Release year: 2022

Dimensions: 13.3 x 13.3 x 3.4 inches

Run time: 74 mins

Dustbin capacity: 0.4 L

Why Roomba Combo j7+?

  • Reason 1: Retractable mop that moves to the top of the vacuum on detecting carpets. This keeps the carpets dry even when the mopping feature is on.
  • Reason 2: The advanced obstacle detection capability can detect pet poop and won’t run over it. iRobot guarantees to replace this vacuum for free if it does.

The Roomba Combo j7+ is the only dual-cleaning robot from iRobot. The company has an excellent reputation for manufacturing reliable and high-performing products. The Combo has received similar love from the users. The way it placed the mop on top of itself is worth complimenting.

This dual bot is equipped with the best navigation features, just like the Roomba j7+. The iRobot Home app gives great usability options. You can schedule it to clean and forget all about it. We believe the battery life could have been better. But overall, it’s an excellent product.

What users say:

  • “It has now been several months since I got the Roomba j7+. I love it, I love it, I love it! The suction is very good, and the machine is surprisingly quiet. Also, I am getting used to it and learning to leave it alone and not follow it around, so I’m much more relaxed about it.”
  • “I’ve owned a lot of iRobot Roombas for the past 20 years, so I consider myself sort of an expert. Also, keep in mind I do not hand out 5-star reviews lightly.”

Pros and Cons

PROS

  • Retractable mop
  • Advanced obstacle detection
  • P.O.O.P. guarantee
  • Dual cleaning modes

CONS

  • Short battery life

Which robot vacuums are not good for carpets?

Not all smart vacuums are efficient in cleaning carpets. Some of them struggle with carpets or even get stuck on them. You should check their suction power and brush rolls to determine if they are a good fit.

Suction power

Vacuums with low suction power are not able to pick up dust that’s stuck to the bottom of the carpets. They even struggle with low-pile carpets, so medium and high-pile ones are out of the question. For example, the Roomba 675 is a very basic iRobot model that doesn’t have much suction power. So it’s not good for cleaning carpets.

Brush rolls

There are two types of brush rolls in robot vacuums – with bristles and without bristles. The bristles tend to get stuck into carpet fibers and prevent the vacuum from cleaning effectively. So, it’s better to go with rubber brush rolls that don’t have bristles. The Mi Robot Vacuum Mop P has a brush roll with bristles, which is not ideal for carpets, but the Roomba e5 has rubber extractors that don’t at all get stuck in carpets.

Mops that don’t rise

Robot Vacuums with mops are good for dual cleaning, but some of them drag their wet mops across the carpets and dampen them. This is not acceptable as it will create an environment for the growth of bacteria.

Final Thoughts

Upright vacuums have no replacement when it comes to carpet cleaning. But a few robot vacuums impress us with their magnificent performance. We have included some of the best robot vacuums for carpets in this article. But if you think we have missed someone important, please bring it to our notice in the comments.
